Middle Grade studio, open to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade creatives. Mondays 4:30 - 6:00 April 13 - May 18 Artist may arrive at 4:15 to snack and help set up. Prices are Suggested Donation. $50 online deposit to secure spot. Pay what you can in person. Please reach out to Kerstin (917-656-3339) if you would like to be notified of drop-in availability. This 6-session workshop will focus on free creativity, using art to experiment, reduce stress, and let expectations go. Kids will create with the goal of process over product, achieving dopamine without a screen. Each week we will look at an iconic artist (or two) and experiment, going back to basics - materials, techniques, and a whole lot of creativity. Local artist and middle school mom, Kerstin Stock, will guide the studio through artists like Matisse, Rothko, Lichtenstein, Pollock, Klee, Haring, Thomas, and O’Keefe. Her goal is that middle school artists will leave with new artistic tools and the confidence to create more in their everyday life. Each student should bring a smock or paint shirt, snack, and water bottle.
