Tabletop Gaming Camp Recap
June 8th-11th, 2026

Firstly, THANK YOU.

This week was a tremendously detailed, demanding, and delightful experience for me as the ring-leader of this down-right bonkers camp.

Thank you for trusting me and the group with your youngster.

I witnessed great care and skill from every one of our participants. They were commendably positive toward one another while pushing boundaries, and shared a lively classroom while making room for one another.

We got glue on our hands. We used bench-top power tools and a wide variety of hand tools. We problem-solved relentlessly. Then, we made up new and more interesting problems to solve.

The pieces they carried home represent their freestyle design/build challenges. We introduced the concepts of gaming (limits, equanimity, progression, goals) using the pieces they created. These pieces were designed from a pool of shared kit-bashing resources, and assembled with tools that could be called out into the classroom and delivered enthusiastically by their fellow builders.

We played games and created situations for their imagination and communication skills to create agreements for storytelling at the table. Games like these are pro-social experiences that invite creativity, design thinking, and intellectual flexibility.

Im super proud of every one of these guys. It was a privilege to share this week with them.

Enjoy our photos.
